1) It helps you distinguish which species are which.
2) population- a group of individuals of one species that live in a particular geographic area
community-
all the organisms that inhabit a particular area; an assemblage of populations of different species living close enough together for potential interaction
3)Organism
Population
Community
Ecosystem
Biome
Biosphere
4) Biotic are living factors. Plants, animals, fungi, protist and bacteria are all biotic or living factors
Abiotic are nonliving factors that affect living organisms. Environmental factors such habitat (pond, lake, ocean, desert, mountain) or weather such as temperature, cloud cover, rain, snow
5)The niche is more than habitat – it incorporates behavior, resource use, and what you might call ‘micro-habitat’, among other factors.
Habitat would be simply the general type of plant/land(or water) arrangement where it would be found.
1. Interdependence is an important topic in the study of Biology, because it is the study on how organism’s depend on each other to live.
2. A population is a group of individuals of the same species in a specific geographic area and a community is a group of populations of different species in a specific geographic area.
3. Individual
Population
Community
Ecosystem
Biosphere
4. Biotic- living(fish)
Abiotic- non-living(rock)
5. An organism’s habitat is the environment in where it lives and an organism’s niche is the adaptive role it plays in the environment.
1. Each organism depends on one another whether directly or indirectly. Example: Humans depend on the plant to get necessary nutrients needed for survival. However, the plant depends on sunlight to provide it with energy to perform photosynthesis. Therefore, us as humans depend on plants directly and sunlight indirectly.
2. A population is a group of individuals of one species that live in a particular geographic area. A community is all the organisms that inhabit a particular area.
3. Individual, Population, Community, Ecosystem, and Biosphere.
4. A biotic factor is something that has lived or is living like plants and animals. An abiotic factor is something that is not living or has never lived like sand, rocks, and mountains.
5. The niche is more than a habitat, it incorporates behavior, resource use, and what you might call ‘micro habitat’ among other factors. A habitat would be the type of plant/land or water arrangement where it would be found.
1. Interdependence is an important theme in Biology because all organisms interact with other organisms in their environment and with nonliving parts of their environment. Their survival depends on these interactions.
2. Population is a group of individuals of one species. Community is a group of species and their interactions.
3. The 5 levels of organization of Ecology from largest to smallest are biosphere, ecosystem, community, population, and organism.
4. Biotic means living or having lived. Examples include turtle, leaf, and piece of wood. Abiotic means non-living or never having lived. Examples include air, water, soil, and temperature.
5. A niche is an organism’s role in the environment. A habitat is specifically where the organism lives.
1. Explain why interdependence is an important theme in Biology.
2. How does population differ from community? Population is talking about how many people live in the community. while community is several interacting populations that inhabit a common environment.
3. List the five levels of organization in ecology. Biosphere, Ecosystem, community, population, organism.
4. Define biotic and abiotic. Give examples of each. Biotic Factor- Is an living organism while abiotic factor is an non-living organism.
5. How does an organism’s niche differ from its habitat? A niche is determined by by the tolerance limiting of an organisms living.
1. Interdependence is important because many species are dependent of other species.
2. Population is just of one species where as community is several populations living together.
3. Biosphere, ecosystem, community, population, organism
4. biotic- living factors in an environment
abiotic- nonliving factors in an environment
5. A niche is the organism’s role it plays where as the habitat is where it lives.
1. Explain why interdependence is an important theme in Biology.- Each organism depends on one another whether directly or indirectly.
2. How does population differ from community- The population consists of just a signal species, and the community consists of a group of species and their interactions.
3. List the five levels of organization in ecology.- Organism, Population, Community, Ecosystem, Bioshere.
4. Define biotic and abiotic. Give examples of each.- Biotic is living (humans), Abiotic is non living (temperature, soil)
5. How does an organism’s niche differ from its habitat?- A niche is an organism’s role in the environment, a habitat is where an organism lives.
1. So that organisms can help each other survive if one species is suffering in an environment.
2. A community consists of multiple species while a population consists of only one species.
3. Biosphere, ecosystem, community, population, species.
4. Biotic=living (bird) abiotic=not living (rock)
5. A niche is its role in its habitat while it’s habitat is where it lives.
