    - Disease gets worst later.
    - Cannot cure the disease but you can manage some symptoms.
    - Usually are over 60 when you get the disease.
    2. Down Sydrome
    - Occurs when chromosome 21 has an extra. (47 instead of 46.)
    - Main cause of birth defects.
    - Can come with heart problems which lead to death.
    - Comes with mental retardation and looks can be different.
    3. Cystic Fibrosis
    - Common lung disease.
    - Life threatening disease.
    - Caused by a defective gene.
    - Delays growth, salty skin, failure to gain weight, and other symptoms.
    - Antibiotics are used to treat it.
    4. Dwarfism
    - Usually do not reach 4 feet.
    - Achodroplasia causes this disease.
    - No cure.
    - Surgery can help but not cure.
    - Short stature.
    5. Williams Syndrome
    - Affects 1 in 10,000 people. (20,000 to 30,000 people)
    - 50% chance to pass it to their children.
    - Long ridges in skin, prominent lips with an open mouth, skin that covers inner corner of the eye, flat nasal bridge with an upturned nose, and missing or gappy teeth.
    - Caused by deletion of 26-28 genes on chromosome 7.
    - No cure.

    2.a way to detect it is a lump or thickening
    3.help prevent it by
    limit alcohol
    control your weight
    get plenty of physical activity
    Progeria
    1.is a genetic disorder causing them to rapidly age
    2.occurs in only 1 in 8 million
    3.charecteristics of accelerating growth begin to show at around 18 to 24 months
    4.begin to loss hair at around 2

    1.) Human males have an extra X-chromosome.

    3.) Females have an XX chromosomal makeup & males have an XY, affected individuals have at least 2X chromosomes
    4.) Reduced fertility or infertile.
    5.) Increased risk of germ cell tumors and male breast cancer.

    Parkinson’s Disease:
    1.) Degenerative disorder of central nervous system.
    2.) Cause is unknown.
    3.) Symptoms include shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement, difficultly with walking, etc.
    4.) No known cure, only treatment.
    5.) Medications, surgery, and multidisciplinary management can provide relief.

    Triple X:
    1.) Chromosomal abnormality.
    2.) Affects 1 in 1,000 females.
    3.) 5 to 10 girls are born in the US everyday with Triple X.
    4.) May have learning disabilities.
    5.) Treatment varies.

    Dwarfism:
    1.) Causes humans to be dramatically shorter.
    2.) Usually people with dwarfism don’t live past 50.
    3.) Can be inherited, but can also be from a mutation.
    4.) It is a dominant trait.
    5.) No cure or prevention.

    Color Blindness:
    1.) Trouble seeing certain colors.
    2.) Present at birth.
    3.) Most are just color deficient.
    4.) Rare that no one sees color.
    5.) Mostly affects males.
