ARTICLE SUMMARY
http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/62530/title/Deep-sea_oil_plume_goes_missing
Deep Sea Oil Plume Goes Missing
BP’s damaged Deepwater Horizon well were creating deep, diffuse oil plumes in the Gulf as a result of the massive jets of crude coming from it. Lately, scientists have been probing the plumes as to find out how quickly native bacteria is eating them up. Their conclusion was simple: very quickly. Evidence was found that the oil plumes were being literally eaten by unkown cold-water bacterium. Research is happening now as to how one could recreate the bacteria to rid the ocean of the oil plumes.
