- doesn’t need external water sources because rain water is captured on the roof and cleansed by “self”

2. its usage is ideal for short, temporary residency
3. it was developed by two students at the Zurich University of the Arts
4. it shows how much water is being consumed.
5. while i believe this is a good idea, i think the limited size of the module would make two people tired of each other really fast and cause people to be inefficient and stressed with each other.

1. The self living module is designed as a living space and a work space for two people.
2. Two undergraduates at the Zurich University of the Arts designed the Empa concept-demonstrator for their final year project.
3. It weighs around 5 tonnes, it can be transported by truck or helicopter.
4. The self living module will be used as a technology demonstrator and be exhibited at trade fairs and shows.
5. Later on Empa wants to utilize the module as living quarters for guests or a research station in the mountains.

The “Self” is a living area designed for two people, and doesn’t rely on outside resources. It will allow people, particularly researchers, to occupy a place otherwise depleted of supplies and be self sustaining. The pod is also easily transportable. It recycles water and regains it’s supply from the rain. Self also uses a very minimal amount of electricity for heating and air conditioning.

Two undergraduates came up with a module called “self”. This is a highly innovative module made to working and living. It has a bathroom, bedroom, toilet, and kitchen. It is also self sufficient in energy and water. The module is also easily transportable so it can be found anywhere. However the module is particularly useful for temporary use. “Self” is supposed to use natural resources without loss of comfort.

This article is about the Self living module. It is a very independent type of living device, providing is own water. Because of its size, only two people are meant to live in it. It has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and toilet. Weighing in at 5 tones, it can easily be transported by trucks or helicopters. I think that this is a great way to conserve energy.

Self is an independant living area. It should only be used for two people because of the size. It can easly be moved by a truck or a helicopter. Self is very expensive to make because of the parts needed to build it. Self relies on an iner water and energy supply.
