Brain Stem-plays a role in basic attention, arousal, & consciousness. All information to & from our body passes through the brain stem.
cerebellum-is the portion of the brain located at the base which controls coordination & balance.
Diencephalons-the posterior part of the forebrain that connects the maidbrain with the cerebral hemispheres.

The Hindbrain-in charge of primal instincts ,likesurvival, dominance.
    The hindbrain includes:
Spinal Cord-infomation superhighway of the body
Medulla Oblongata-controls the body’s autonomic functions
Pons- level of arousal or conciousness and sleep
    Cerebellum-deals with movement

Limbic System( emotional Brain)- emotions reside, memory begins ,and where these two functions combine together to mark behaviours with positive or negative feelings.
Amygdala-storing and classifying emotionally charged memories
    Hippocampus-holds memory infomation
Hypothalamus-monitors and controls your circadian rhythms
Thalamus-plays a function in motor control

    Neocortex:
Riht hemisphere-more concerned with the artistic, spatial and musical
Lft hemishere-the left is more concerned with the colder, linear, rational and verbal aspects
Takes up 2\3 of the human brain

Brain stem- All the info from your body passes the brain stem
Cerebellum-Part of the brain and it controls the coordination and the balence
Diencephalons-A part of the brain that connects the maidbrain and cerebral hemisphereas

The Brain Stem – the portion of the brain that is continuous with the spinal cord and comprises the medulla oblongata, pons, midbrain, and parts of the hypothalamus, functioning in the control of reflexes and such essential internal mechanisms as respiration and heartbeat.

Cerebellum – a large portion of the brain, serving to coordinate voluntary movements, posture, and balance in humans, being in back of and below the cerebrum and consisting of two lateral lobes and a central lobe.

Diencephalons – The posterior part of the forebrain that connects the midbrain with the cerebral hemispheres, encloses the third ventricle, and contains the thalamus and hypothalamus.

The largest part of your brain is the cerebrum. The cerebrum is where you think and where most memories are stored.
The second largest part of your brain is called the cerebellum. The cerebellum processes sensory information from your body, such as from skeletal muscles and joints.
The medulla is the part of the brain that connects to your spinal cord. The medulla controls involuntary processes, such as blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate, and involuntary breathing.

The cerebrum is the largest part of your brain, it controls voluntary movements, and allows you to sense light, touch, sound, odors, taste, cold, heat, and pain.

The cerebellum processes sensory information from you body.

The medulla controls involuntary movements and recieves sensory impulses from receptors in blood vessels.

There is the cerebrum and it is the largest part of the brain. The cerebellum which is the second- largest part then there is the medula which is the smallest part of the brain

  22. Kris L. on November 21st, 2009 11:02 am

There are three main parts of the brain, the cerebrum, the cerebullum, and the medulla. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain where you think and memories are stored. It controls voluntary movements and allows you to sense touch, light, sound, odor, taste, pain, heat, and cold. The cerebellum is the second largest part of your brain. It processes sensory, information, and allows the body to maintain it’s balance. The medulla is the part of the brain that connects to your spinal cord. The medulla controls invoulantary processes such as blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate, and breathing.

brain stem controlles are nervous system and the messges that go to are brain go to the brain stem first

cerebellum a part of youre brain that controlles coordination and balance

diencephalons the posterior part of the forebrain, consisting of the hypothalamus, thalamus, metathalamus, and epithalamus; the subthalamus is often recognized as a distinct division
