I think a person would have a chance of suriving if they got their spleen removed. They also might not surive because when your spleen is removed you can get serious problems.

THe spleen has many body functions. When a persons spleen is removed, all the other parts of the body take a fragment of its functions, so yes a person would live without a spleen

  3. Kaila Poleon 4th Period

Yes the person would survive icf the spleen was taken out because the other parts of the body would take over its purpose(which repairs cells)

  4. You might have to get recent check ups to see how you are doing. You can survive.

what would happen if the spleen was removed is
    1. Modest increases in circulating white blood cells and platelets
    2. Diminished responsiveness to some vaccines
3.Increased susceptibility to infection by bacteria and protozoa
Yes, you can survive a spleen rmoval because it removes diseases or damaged spleen.

It would decline. the spleen is one of the main organs of the lymphatic system. When a virus would enter their body they would not be able to fight it off so they wopuld die.

  7. It would be harder for yuor blood flow though the body

If you remove your spleen, you can still live a healthy life and survive. If the spleen is damaged or removed, other organs in the body take can over many of the spleen’s functions.

  9. If a person got their spleen removed they would be okay and could still live without it but there miGht be a problem if you got a really bad cut or if something happened where you lost a lot of blood because there wouldnt be blood to replace it right away.

  10. All the other organs would do the spleens job and after awhile the human would probaly die because the organs would need to do their job.

  11. The person would survive but the lymphatic system would not work right

If someone got their spleen removed they would be able to survive because my daddy had his removed when i was six years old and me my mommy were waiting in the car for him my mommy looked at the rear view mirror and saw my daddy when he fell down the stairs and we had to take him to the hospital and some nights we would spend the night at the hospital with him but right now he doesn’t have a spleen.

  16. If someone had their spleen removed, they would have to be extra clean and safe to prevent getting sick, because the spleen helps to keep you healthy and it fights off infection, although they would survive because other organs in the body take over many of the spleen’s functions if the spleen is damaged or removed.

If a person was to have their spleen removed, their health would most likely plummet. The person would probably not be able to survive because there are lymphocytes in your spllen that attack or mark the pathogens in your blood as it flows through. So, if you did not have a spllen, you would not have anything to fight the pathogens, so you would die.

You would get sick since the spleen removes old blood cells and fights infections. The person could not survive since it fights infections.

  20. They would have dead red blood cells and viruses floating around in their body because thats what the spleen removes. They would not survive because they would probably get really sick because of all the viruses in their blood stream.

  25. Elijah Hurskin 4th

  29. Kathryn Wilson 4th

If your spleen was removed you would be at higher risk of infection because the spleen helps remove dangerous bacterial pathogens circulating in the blood.

  30. If a person had a damaged splen it would be very hard for the body to filter blood through the body. Yes the person could survive if the person had their spleen removed because the body could stil fillter the blood but iut would just be very hard.

  31. James Russell 6th

no, because you would need a transplant to live

  32. Yes a person could live without te spleen because well every body part is important but you can live without your spleen just like you can live without one of our kidney.

  33. Most of the pathegoens would get through and they would not be killed. That would result in that person becoming very sick. Yes because there are other parts of the lymphatic system to get rid of the pathegoens it would just be less efficient.
