trichina-A small slender parasitic nematode worm that infests the intestines of various mammals and whose larvae move through the bloodstream, becoming encysted in muscles. In the dirt the class found trichina.
trichosis-Any disease of or affecting the hair. The woman had trichosis so she had to take good care of her hair.
    Troph (norishment)-
autotroph-An organism capable of synthesizing its own food from inorganic substances, using light or chemical energy. in class we learned the process of autotroph.
atrophy-A wasting or decrease in size of a body organ, tissue, or part owing to disease. When atrophy occurs your body organs or tissue gets smaller.
    Tox (poison)
Toxins are substances created by plants and animals that are poisonous to humans. Toxin is poisonous Humans.
nontoxic-not producing or resulting from poison. The chemical was nontoxic.

toxin-A poisonous substance, especially a protein, that is produced by living cells or organisms and is capable of causing disease when introduced into the body tissues but is often also capable of inducing neutralizing antibodies or antitoxins.
Poison ivy is a very bad toxin.
    nontoxic-not toxic
    Maple leaves are nontoxic.
atrophy-a wasting away of the body or of an organ or part, as from defective nutrition or nerve damage.
    Never do atrophy!
tropism-an orientation of an organism to an external stimulus, as light, esp. by growth rather than by movement.
dont get a tropism on an organ.

    Trich (hair)
Trichina- the adults of which live in the intestine and produce larvae that encyst in the muscle tissue, esp. in pigs, rats, and humans.
Thrichina is something living in the intesstine.

    Trichosis-any disease of the hair.
Is lice a type of trichosis?

    Troph (norishment)
Autotroph- any organism capable of self-nourishment by using inorganic materials as a source of nutrients and using photosynthesis or chemosynthesis as a source of energy
An autoroph is an organism capable of self enrichment.

Atrophy- a wasting away of the body or of an organ or part, as from defective nutrition or nerve damage
Atrophy is the wasting away of body.

    Tox (poison)
Toxin- any poison produced by an organism
Could you have toxins in your stomach?

Toxoid- a toxin rendered nontoxic by treatment with chemical agents or by physical means and used for administration into the body in order to produce specific immunity by stimulating the production of antibodies.
Would a flu shot be a toxoid?

  47. Troph (norishment)tropism-an orientation of an organism to an external stimulus, as light, esp. by growth rather than by movement.
    The organism grew by tropism.

atrophy-a wasting away of the body or of an organ or part, as from defective nutrition or nerve damage.
You can get atrophy by not eating properly.

Tox (poison) toxin-any poison produced by an organism, characterized by antigenicity in certain animals and high molecular weight, and including the bacterial toxins that are the causative agents of tetanus, diphtheria, etc., and such plant and animal toxins as ricin and snake venom.

King cobras have very dangerous toxins in their venoum.

    nontoxic-not toxic

That spider’s venoum is not nontoxic to humans.

Monotrichous bacteria have a single flagellum.

trichosis- Any disease of the hair.
    My neighbor suffers from trichosis.

autotroph- Any organism capable of self-nourishment by using photosynthesis.
Green plants, algae, and certain bacteria are autotrophs.

tropism- Growth or turning movement of a biological organism in response to an environment stimulus.
Tropisms are typically associated with plants.

nontoxic- Not producing or resulting from poison.
    The magic markers were nontoxic.

toxicity- The degree of strength of a poison.
The paint label warned of its toxicity level.

    Monotrichous-having a single polar flagellum
I was reading my science book and one of our vocabulary words was monotrichous.
trichosis- any disease of the hair
When my cousin went to the doctor he said she had a disease in her hair, he called it trichosis.
atrophy- waste away, typically due to the degeneration of cells, or become vestigial during evolution
Extensive TV viewing may lead to atrophy of children’s imaginations.
Autotroph-an organism that is able to form nutritional organic substances from simple inorganic substances such as carbon dioxide.
Trees have the ability to autotroph.
toxoid-a chemically modified toxin from a pathogenic microorganism, that is no longer toxic but is still antigenic and can be used as a vaccine.
My dog had to take a toxoid because she ate something that was toxic to her.
    nontoxic-not poisonous or toxic
The markers I bought said nontoxic on the back, that means that they were not posiness.
