Models are impotant in science because they help scientists study things that are difficult to study in real life.

A tornado for example can be modeled by taking a vaccume cleaner and let it suck up the mist that is created by dry ice at an angle. Then the mist will start to swirl up and turn into a miny tornado. Models can be used to simulate anything from an airplanes reaction to wind from a flood through a neighborhood.
Models give you a way to understand things in science better. You can use a model to find out what might happen.
