What does aerobic exercise strenghthen?

    Since aerobic means “with oxygen” I would say that it would probably be working with the heart. If you strengthen your lungs, you will have a lot more “flexibility’ in the lungs meaning that it would be able to hold in air and be stronger.

    Aerobic exercise can also strengthen the heart because it helps keep your heart rate up and moving more. During aerobic exercise, glycogen is broken down into glucose. In its absence, fat metabolism is initiated. Aerobic exercise helps strengthen the muscles involved in respiration. Thus, the flow of air in and out of the lungs is aided.

    Thats what I think and have learned in the past.
